Born on October 14, 1964, in Córdoba, Nariño, Colombia, Jaime Carlosama is a distinguished painter whose work transcends borders and cultures. During his childhood in El Rosal, Ecuador, where his family was forced to migrate, Jaime began capturing the beauty of his surroundings with simple drawings using charcoal and sticks—tools that significantly shaped his artistic sensitivity.
His academic training in visual arts at the Instituto de Artes Plásticas Daniel Reyes in Ibarra, Ecuador, along with his various specializations in screen printing, ceramics, and sculpture, prepared him for a career marked by innovation and creativity. With numerous international exhibitions, he has shared his vision in countries such as Mexico, Brazil, Spain, and Italy, capturing the attention and hearts of art enthusiasts.
Jaime’s unique style, known as “Magical Realism,” is inspired by the interpretation of human dreams and fantasies, creating a dialogue between fantasy and reality. Each piece is an introspective journey that invites the viewer to explore their own imagination.
Residing in London since 1999, Jaime has continued his professional development in interior design and art, participating in notable exhibitions such as Gallery One and Galerie Artes in Paris.
